a Warsaw Film School short film
Join us and back our original thriller project. Every contribution, even the tiniest brick, means the world to us. And makes possible the making of a truly scary short film.
We are Warsaw Film School Students who built a team of people sharing a passion, hard-workers, and creative visionnaires. For the past couple years, we have been gaining experience of diverse film-sets, be it commercials, student short films, videoclips and tv programs. And we want to learn more, make something of out own and grow.
It could have been you
"The Greatest” is an approx. 15-25 minute short, where you will be scared.
The story involves a young girl who is facing almost impossible dilemmas all-the-while not being able to escape - neither the premises, nor the decision-making. Will she attempt to succeed at the cost of others, or will she break?

What do we want to show?
A lot of really important things in llife pass us by. We chase the glitter, a moment's satisfaction, a bigger salary, a more comfortable job. We would like to ask what man is capable of letting go in order to achieve success, and whether success is what will actually give us happiness. In other words: what divides us from evil in everyday situations?
What's already there
We have been preparing for this project for several weeks and already have:

Completed our crew
Secured part of the necessary hardware and gear
Organised a preliminary casting
Why we need your support
We aim to tell something important about the world in a short film that will be watched by a maximum number of people on international and domestic film festivals, and just anywhere the film will have the possibility to be screened. We would like for it to appear to people and make them think / re-think / consider / and maybe change their life for the better.
All our activity involving the making of this film is non-profit - we work together for a joint success, which will be impersonated by the film.
One of our biggest financial concerns is the location - a spacey villa that we need to rent for a couple filming days.
On top of that, scenography has to be partly built, props organised. We will have to order sewing parts of our actors' clothing and cover makeup expenses, as well as feed the crew and pay for gasoline, as we will be transporting all the heavy equipment ourselves.
Lastly, we need your support to cover the fees for active professionals (i.e. sound postproduction, developing the entire graphic design for the films promotion incl. a poster, visual effects, etc.), who are already willing to help, however, our themselves not physically able to give us their time in the amounts necessary, for free.

What will we gain?
Apart from experience and a good, intense, thrilling short film, we aim for quality rather than quantity. Such can be only ensured through the use of professional equipment, such as an Arri Alexa and Panavision Prime lenses. Thanks to this camera setup, our talented DP will be able to get the most of our beautiful venue and cast, portray them in the best possible way.
Also, our Director:
will be able to book rehearsal rooms to prepare for the film set with actors, whom we will be also able to reward their valuable time and involvement.
Even though our team consists of experienced gaffers, who are very keen on helping us realise our vision, we need to use costly LED-lamps.
Why are we here?
We are firm believers that passion can become work. We have backed and supported our friends with their wonderful projects and now need the help ourselves.
What's our plan?
We have planned the shoot well in advance for the beginning of September 2019. We need the time to properly rehearse the difficult scenes and finetune every detail we can in order to get a best possible result. Our goal: have the ready short by the end of September.
